FROM THE PRESIDENT

1.      Words of Color:  There may be just a couple of panels available.  If you are interested in either getting another panel ($50 for large/$30 small panel) or if you would like to join the show, please send a jpg to steven_weiss@verizon.net.  Because the panels on either side of the empty ones are already filled, we are looking for compatible work.   2.   New Website :  Please check out the new more contemporary look of our revamped website, bwac.org.  Many thanks to Dan Marino for all his hard work.  A few kinks are still being smoothed out.  I encourage you to use our blog on the bottom of the Home Page.

2.  Sculpture Show:  BWAC’s 27th Annual Outdoor Sculpture Show is open daily through September 5 at the Empire Fulton Ferry and Brooklyn Bridge Parks in DUMBO.  This is our longest running series and we can be proud of the 23 exhibits.  Please go and enjoy the show and think about exhibiting there next year.  Special thanks go to Ursula Clark and Ty Tripoli for all their hard work.  There wouldn’t have been a show without them.

Enjoy the fall weather!

John

Painting Central Park: Weekend Workshop, October 3 and 4, 2009, from 10 am  to 4 pm.   This two-day workshop will introduce intermediate and advanced artists to an exciting approach to painting the landscape. Working on site in the diverse landscape of Central Park in New York City, artists will learn how to quickly launch into a plein air study in a bold, abstract way, and then develop refinement, subtlety and finish. Gallego’s work has appeared in over a dozen major museums and many more gallery exhibitions nationwide, and has been featured in Art in America, the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Veranda Magazine and American Artist.
